I have described this article as the validity of fate, but equally, fate could be totally invalid. More than anything, the validity of fate depends on which world you live in - the world of illusion, or the world of Truth.

First, let’s see how fate fits in with the world of illusion. The world of Illusion implies that life is deceptive, that all is not as it appears to be. It is a world where coincidence links arms with chance, and accidents walk hand-in-hand with luck. Many people reading this may well say that this is real, that this is reality, and I have to agree, but only if this is the world you live in. In the world of illusion we live according to the whims of life, also known as the fickle finger of fate. This is a competitive world, one of struggle and hardship, especially if you believe in such things.

In the world of illusion there is no acknowledgement that we each create our own reality. If something happens that we do not like, then it is bad luck, whereas if it is beneficial it is considered good luck. If, over a long term process of life, events turn beneficial for us, that’s fate. If events turn sour for us, and everything goes wrong, that too, is fate. All events in life that seem to be beyond our control are written off as fate, which, all in all, is a very effective way of avoiding the greater undercurrents of Truth which are continuously sweeping through life.

The world of illusion pulls our focus toward disaster, both ecological and human, toward poverty, toward injustice, toward violence. Illusion suggests that all life is separate, that this is the very basis of competition, and that nature is a perfect example of this. The world of illusion believes in winning and losing, in setting goals, in success and failure. All the stress and pressures in life come from the world of illusion, yet human attachment to this world of indifferent illusion simply grows stronger.

Let us take a different look at life. Let us look at life as a movie. Each frame of the movie is a lifetime. It’s a long movie, with the beginning and end spliced together. In other words, this life movie is without an ending, without a beginning. Let me emphasize that this is ‘your’ life movie, and that every moment, every detail, is created by you.

Okay, that’s simple enough. Now to complicate things a bit. This life movie is composed of two movies running simultaneously, one interfaced with the other. One is the movie of illusion; the other is the movie of Truth. The people of a consensus reality all agree that there is only one movie and that basically; it is out of our control. All you can do is your best, and hope that this is good enough. The fewer people of a greater reality know that the two movies are interwoven, for they have pierced the illusion, and they are aware that they can direct their life movies according to their will.

The pitfalls are many. As a director, Will is excellent, but Desire is a very poor substitute. Desire will keep you in the movie of illusion, even if illusion suggests that you are experiencing a greater reality. In the world of illusion, people have beliefs like; ‘this was meant to be,’ and ‘your destiny cannot be denied,’ and ‘the universe will look after you.’ They intellectually grasp the concepts, they even feel the potential, but they are still held in the illusion. Illusion is both incredibly powerful, and without power. Illusion can kill you, but in Truth, there is no death. Illusion can fill you with fear, yet all fear is based in illusion. Illusion can fill you with anxiety and stress, yet both anxiety and stress are but shadows of deception spun and woven on the busy looms of illusion.

Truth holds all the power, yet this power is not unyieldingly held by Truth. Truth will yield to illusion, simply because to deny illusion is to give illusion power. In Truth, you and I are immortal Beings. Infinity is our playground, while Earth-life is choice, our choice. We are the directors of our life movies, and according to our direction is the way it flows. In Truth, our life movies flows to the rhythm of infinity, knowing that linear time is no more than an effective and efficient tool for learning life’s lessons of creation. Of course, the paradox is that it is linear time that binds our belief in illusion, but that, also, is our choice, or lack of choosing! In Truth, all attachments are based in illusion. In Truth, Love is an expression of Truth. Love is the power which can shred the deception of illusion, but equally, Love cannot be an attachment.

Truth teaches us that the identity self is not an isolated human unit. Truth teaches us that all life is One; that all life on this planet is the vast diversity of expression of One consciousness. That consciousness is generally referred to as God. Truth teaches us that the identity self can allow death to remove the illusion. When the false power of identity is gone, there is only Self. Truth teaches us that there is nothing outside of Self. In Truth, illusions fade away, yet we are left with nothing but gratitude for the illusions, for they were living dreams that helped us to grow in consciousness. Truth teaches us that not a moment is lost, and that in perfect timing, even the illusion of fate can be completely valid.
